Discreet Shopping for Couples: Packaging, Billing Names, Returns and App Privacy Compared by Retailer

Many couples, especially those with children at home, shared mailrooms or joint accounts, want to know exactly what arrives at the door, what shows on the statement, and whether they can return something. We read each retailer's own policy pages and compared them.

This is a research-based guide built from retailer and brand policy pages checked on 26 October 2026. We haven't placed test orders, so we report only what each company publishes. Where a policy page doesn't say something, we mark it "not stated". Policies change, so check the live page before you order. See how we research.

Packaging, in each company's words

Lovehoney (US). Orders ship from Atlanta, GA. Larger items go in "plain, sturdy custom-made boxes", standard items in a "small, plain brown box", and smaller items "such as condoms" in "plain, heavy-duty envelopes". The warehouse return address "will not include 'Lovehoney'".¹

We-Vibe and Womanizer (US). Both are WOW Tech brands. Both shipping pages say orders are "packaged in plain boxes with a discreet label" and shipped from "WOW Tech USA Ltd.". Free standard shipping applies over $30 in the continental US.⁴¹⁰ We-Vibe's UK page says the sender address "does not contain the name 'We-Vibe'", only "WOW Tech Europe GmbH" and "ecom Logistik".⁵

LELO. "Plain cardboard boxes without big logos or letters". But "due to legislation… the waybill label must contain written information about the sender in small print… your package will include the brand's name written in a highly discreet manner".¹¹

Billing: what may show on your statement

• We-Vibe says orders are "shipped and billed by WOW Tech".⁶
• Lovehoney and LELO: their official pages we checked don't state a billing descriptor. If this matters, ask customer service before ordering. Remember that PayPal, Klarna and similar services keep their own records, which may name the merchant.

Returns and guarantees, compared

Lovehoney (US):²³ - 30-day refunds for unopened, unused or unworn products. - The 100 Day Pleasure Guarantee covers one sex toy or bondage item per order and pays out as a gift voucher. Lovehoney's terms say "the cost of returning the product will be paid by you", the maximum voucher value is $249, and the voucher is valid for 90 days. - Warranty: 1 year (We-Vibe, Arcwave and ROMP 2 years; Womanizer 5 years).

We-Vibe: "Due to the highly intimate nature of our products, we are unable to accept returns once the packaging seal has been broken." Unopened items can be returned free within 30 days.⁷ The 100-day guarantee gives "a voucher to use on an alternative product", for one item per order, bought from the official We-Vibe online shop.⁸ The warranty is 2 years.⁹

LELO: a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Return shipping is "at your cost". You get "a coupon for the value of the returned device + free standard shipping". Accessories, bundles and special editions are excluded.¹²

Tip for gifts: if you're buying for your spouse and unsure, don't open the hygiene seal until you've talked. That keeps the standard return option.⁷²

App privacy, briefly

If you choose an app-enabled toy, We-Vibe's app FAQ says:¹³

• No account is needed (an "anonymous token" is used).
• Location isn't tracked.
• Communication is "end-to-end encrypted".
• You can set a PIN.
• Partner data is deleted after 90 days of non-use.
• On iOS, screenshots can't be blocked.

Where to start

If plain packaging and a neutral sender name are your top priorities, the brands' own US stores and Lovehoney all publish clear statements, quoted above. If cash refunds matter more, remember that all three guarantees we read pay out in vouchers or coupons, not money, so for Lovehoney and We-Vibe the 30-day unopened window is the real refund option.²⁷⁸¹²

A discreet-shopping checklist

1. Use a delivery address and time you control. Lovehoney says it isn't responsible for failed deliveries caused by a wrong address or name.²
2. Check the sender name so you recognise the parcel.
3. Pick your payment method deliberately, and remember that wallets and pay-later services keep their own history.
4. Keep the seal intact until you're sure.
5. Lock the app with a PIN, and unpair when not in use.¹³
